Summer is busy time for local activities, festivals and special events. This week I thought I would share some local happenings to enjoy.
HAPPENINGS:
Friday, August 3rd, 6p.m. to 9 p.m.: Train Ride Fund raiser for Health & Hope Free Clinic. A chartered steam train ride into the countryside. Enjoy organic seasonal Hors D’Oeurves by Jeremy’s, wine, music and adventure in support of the area’s free medical clinic. Tickets are $30. Visit www.brownpapertickets.com to purchase tickets. Tuesday, August 7th, 4:30 p.m.: United Way’s 13th Annual Power of the Purse. Admission is $30, to be held at the Centralia College TranAlta Commons. This is a unique fundraiser for United Way, raising money for a good cause, fabulous auction items and celebrating women in leadership and philanthropy. Call 360-748-8100 to get on the waiting list for tickets (yes, it is sold out but there is hope if you want to attend).
Thursday, August 9th, 6:00 p.m.: Movie Night at Stillwaters. Movie this month is “I can only Imagine”. Movie starts promptly at 6. Come early as ice cream is served at 5:45 p.m.
Thursday, August 9th through Sunday, August 12th: The 76th Annual Morton Loggers’ Jubilee. Featuring a parade, lawnmower races, flea market and more. For admission prices (they have nice senior discounts) and more information click HERE.
Tuesday, August 14th through August 19th: The Southwest Washington Fair is back! The Senior rate for admission is $6, and on Senior day, Wednesday, August 15th the price is $3. What a deal!
