It’s Valentines Day on Saturday! Just a reminder…
Maybe you think you are too old to send Valentines or it’s too silly to do this. Here is another way to think about it. A sweet message to the ones you love is just what a Valentine is.
You don’t have to buy expensive cards or give creative gifts to say “I love you”. Send a card, a note or make a phone call this Valentine’s Day to let the important people in your life know that you care/love them. Got a neighbor that you particularly appreciate – give them a note and let them know!
There is something very satisfying about going out of your way to let people know how you feel. Here are a few famous quotes to inspire your messages.
The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved.
Victor Hugo
If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.
A.A. Milne (from Winnie the Pooh)
All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.
Charles M. Schulz (Lucy – from Charlie Brown)
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. Tickets can be reserved by calling the college box office at (360) 736-9391, ext. 525. ‘Princess Ruby Slippers’ to Open at Evergreen Playhouse “The Delicious Revenge of Princess Ruby Slippers” opens at 7 p.m. Friday at the Evergreen Playhouse, 226 W. Center St., Centralia.
Sibling rivalry is unraveled in a comic confusion of fairy tale situations in “The Delicious Revenge of Princess Rubyslippers.” Jackie (Kelsey Noltensmeier) and her little sister Ruby (Anna Middleton) are terribly bored while their harried mum (Angela Wilcox) tries to take a five-minute break. When Jackie’s friend Tom (Courtney Joy Simmons) arrives, Ruby wants to play with them and when they won’t let her so she hides in a box and disappears. The story then unfolds into a world of make-believe, with a fairy godmother (who isn’t very helpful), the big bad wolf, a giant, a witch and Prince Charming all making appearances.
Performances are Feb. 13-15, 19-22, 27-28 and March 1. Performances are at 7 p.m. except the Sunday matinees, which are at 2 p.m. Admission is $10, except the Thursday, Feb. 19 show, which is pay what you will. Tickets are available at brownpapertickets.com.
